✨ Fifteen Years of Sustainable Agriculture Journey – A Historic Night to Remember! 🌱

On a crisp October evening, the Faculty of Life Sciences together with the Sustainable Food Systems Research Center opened their doors for a celebration that felt like coming home. The occasion? Fifteen beautiful years of the Sustainable Agriculture Study Program — fifteen years of growth, learning, laughter, and change.

From near and far they came: students, alumni, researchers, and staff — faces from Germany, Norway, Poland, the US, Singapore, Sri Lanka, India and beyond — all gathering in one vibrant, joy-filled space. As stories unfolded and laughter drifted through the room, it became clear that this evening was more than a party; it was a reunion of hearts and minds that have shaped the study program’s journey.

Prof. Florian Wichern and Prof. Matthias Kleinke took everyone on a heartfelt journey through time, sharing how the faculty and program have evolved over the past 15 years — the milestones reached, the challenges overcome, and the growing impact made around the world.

Between lively rounds of bingo, warm conversations, and generous servings of good food and laughter, something truly special happened:

generations of Sustainable Agriculture students met, shared their experiences, and celebrated their achievements. It was a rare and beautiful moment where stories intertwined — from the very first graduates to the newest dreamers at the beginning of their path.

As the evening lights mellowed and conversations softened, a quiet sense of gratitude filled the air. The Sustainable Agriculture Study Program had not only nurtured knowledge and careers, but friendships, inspiration, and a shared purpose that will carry far beyond the university’s walls. Together, we raised our glasses and toasted to more seasons of curiosity, compassion, and growth — to a thriving and resilient future ahead. 🌾✨
